Outpatient Mental Health for Teens: Why Choose Us?

Teens often step down to structured outpatient care after leaving inpatient mental health treatment. They can also come directly to our outpatient services if they need more support than weekly therapy can provide.

At Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center, we provide dependable, compassionate care to help your child feel supported. We combine focused group therapy sessions with in-person medication management to help your child regain stability and confidence.

Highlights of our outpatient mental health services for teens include:

  • Adolescent-centered care: Services consider how teens think, feel and navigate challenges. We use group therapy and creative methods like movement and art to help kids express themselves in ways that feel natural. Our approach makes it easier for your child to progress toward treatment goals.
  • Medication management: Lincoln Prairie is one of the few outpatient mental health programs in central Illinois offering in-person medication management for teens. This service is available even if your child isn’t in therapy or doesn’t need it. Your child receives trusted psychiatric care from providers who understand adolescent needs.
  • Personalized treatment: Therapists, nurses and psychiatrists work together to adjust services to address symptoms and treatment goals. These efforts may involve more one-on-one time, adding new topics to group therapy or coordinating closely on medication management. This flexibility helps us focus on what’s most helpful for your child.
  • Rooted in respect: Staff bring patience and kindness to every interaction, helping your child get more out of therapy. When emotions run high, we use calm, respectful methods to guide teens through difficult moments so they feel supported, not judged.
